Lucrezia
S/S 25 - F/W 26
One of the famous paintings of Dante Gabriel Rosetti is “Lucrezia Borgia”, painted in 1861. In this watercolour Rossetti captures Lucrezia Borgia washing her hands after poisoning her husband, Duke Alfonso Bisceglie. She is aided in the crime by her father, Pope Alexander IV. What inspired me in this painting was the bustier of her dress.
“Lucrezia” wedding gown is meticulously crafted from delicate French lace embroidered with sequins. The fitted elongated lace corset is adorned with a pearl-decorated ornament that highlights the upper part of the bustier and continues as straps to the back. The same ornament adorns the waist too.
The innovative fitted bustier complements the voluminous skirt crafted from many layers of glittery tulle and extra layers of white tulle irregularly placed, offering a romantic silhouette that exudes modern luxury.
A unique wedding gown of timeless elegance and style.
